    Freqently Asked Questions

Light surrounds and illuminates the face - Shadow free and very comfortable to use.

Our modern LEDs are very efficient and last the life of the mirror - You will never need to change a bulb.

approx. 1/3 of the mirrors we sell are with LED illumination.

Position your face close to the mirror surface.

Slowly draw back until you achieve a clear enlarged image. This means you have found the mirror's focal point.

If the image flips upside down then you've pulled back too far.

3-fold magnification is the easiest magnification to use and for this reason it is preferred by hotels.

3x magnification provides a pleasantly enlarged image showing most of the face. Perfect for general makeup and shaving tasks.

If you wear glasses or need a highly detailed image for tweezing etc then read our FAQ section about 5x magnification.

5x magnification is actually our most popular magnification.

Recommended if you wear glasses and providing a detailed image for greater accuracy when tweezing, applying makeup or perfectly trimming a beard.

Remember you will see less of the face with this magnification and 5x magnification requires a little practise to find the correct focal point.

There is no international standard regarding magnifications. So manufacturers will make extravagant claims.

We believe that a genuine 7x magnification is the highest magnification that provides a detailed distortion free image and can be used for long periods without eye strain.

Our 7-fold is a VERY STRONG magnification and provides incredible detail.

Generally we recommend chromed brass, stainless steel or selected plastics as these materials are perfect for bathrooms and for regions with a seaside climate.

All these materials are rust resistant but chrome is especially popular as a finish for bathroom fittings and hardware.

Why Chrome? - Chrome is extremely hard and does not oxidise in air, thereby eliminating the need for regular polishing.

Further when it is electro-chemically plated on nickled brass the result is a brilliant lustre and complete corrosion prevention.
