Choosing and positioning a wall-mounted mirror

A wall mirror works best when its arm can bring the magnifying surface comfortably into your close viewing range. Before choosing a model, consider the mounting position, required arm reach, user height and whether a window, cabinet or other fitting prevents installation directly beside the basin.

Articulated arms and swivel joints are particularly important for side-wall installations. Check that the mirror can reach the position where it will be used and then fold away neatly when it is not needed.

Also decide whether you need illumination. Non-illuminated models are simplest where the bathroom already has good facial lighting; rechargeable LED avoids permanent wiring; hardwired LED is appropriate where a permanent electrical connection is available.
