3x + 7x Dual Magnification

When 3x + 7x makes sense

A dual-magnification mirror is useful when one person wants comfortable everyday magnification but also needs a much stronger view for occasional precision work. The 3x side provides a broader field of view; the 7x side is intended for small-area close-up tasks.

7x requires a closer working distance and shows less of the face at once, so allow a little time to become accustomed to it. For many customers, having 3x available on the reverse side makes a strong 7x mirror more practical for daily use.

Our preferred specialist suppliers do not offer magnifying mirrors above 7x. At very high magnifications the usable viewing area becomes increasingly small and controlling optical distortion becomes more demanding.
